Privacy
The short version
No analytics. No tracking cookies. No advertising. No third-party scripts following you between pages. This site doesn't build a profile of you, and there's nothing here to opt out of — which is why there's no cookie banner asking you to.
Skip Zone used to run Google Analytics behind a consent banner. Both have been removed. The numbers weren't worth the friction, and they aren't coming back.
The one exception: the contact form
The contact page loads Google reCAPTCHA to keep spam out of the inbox. It runs on that page and nowhere else. reCAPTCHA sets a _GRECAPTCHA cookie and sends signals about your browsing behaviour to Google in order to judge whether you're a bot — it is covered by Google's privacy policy, not this one.
That's a deliberate trade: a working contact form that isn't drowning in spam, in exchange for one Google dependency on one page. It's flagged here rather than buried, because a "no tracking" claim is only worth anything if the exceptions are easy to find.
If you'd rather avoid it entirely, don't visit the contact page — reach me on air instead. Details are on the about page.
What happens when you use the contact form
Your name, email address and message are sent to a private inbox so I can reply. That's it. They aren't added to a mailing list, shared, sold, or used for anything other than answering you.
The tools
The ISS tracker and repeater map remember the coordinates you type in, using your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device — it is never sent to a server, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Both tools fetch data from third-party sources to work at all, so those services will see a request from your browser when you use them.
Fonts and hosting
Space Mono is served from this site's own domain rather than a font CDN, so no third party sees your visit just because a page rendered.
The site is static, hosted on AWS S3 behind CloudFront. CloudFront access logging is not enabled, so no request logs are collected or retained. AWS may process technical information in the course of delivering the page — that's inherent to hosting anything on the internet, and it isn't something I can see or use.
Questions
If something here is unclear or you think a claim on this page is wrong, tell me — I'd rather fix it than defend it.
